On October 22, Andreessen Horowitz renamed its a16z Crypto fund to a16z Frontier. The mandate now reaches AI-powered products, autonomous machines, biology and medicine. The firm says it will keep backing crypto companies and pushing for sensible crypto regulation.
General partner Chris Dixon announced the change in a Thursday blog post, according to CoinDesk. The new label covers startups “building new technologies and creating markets that may take years to develop.”
