The big result: When a big-name former investment banker took the chairman’s job at under-pressure coal carrier Aurizon, we basically waved its highly valuable Queensland rail network goodbye.

Bankers love deals, right? And this chairman, Tim Longstaff, had not long ago come on to Nine Entertainment’s board and sold Domain (previously unthinkable) and bought outdoor advertising group QMS (something successive Nine boards and management teams had toyed with for years).
