WalletConnect founder says crypto will be in every company one day
Pedro Gomes, founder of WalletConnect, believes the future of crypto is universal. In a conversation with TheStreet Roundtable, he compared WalletConnect’s role in crypto to Visa’s role in traditional payments.
“Visa isn’t a bank or even banking infrastructure—it’s rails for banks to connect to merchants,” Gomes said. “Similarly, the WalletConnect network provides rails for wallets to connect to applications.”
WalletConnect doesn’t function as a wallet itself. Instead, it’s what Gomes calls “infrastructure for wallet connectivity,” designed to streamline how users interact with various crypto apps across different chains.
