
WANA (Jul 15) – The United States has frozen over $130 million after sanctioning several cryptocurrency wallets linked to the Central Bank of Iran, according to U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

In a social media post on X, Bessent stated that the Treasury Department remained committed to disrupting and dismantling what he described as Iran’s illicit financial activities, specifically highlighting the abuse of digital assets.

He added that Washington would continue to aggressively track these funds and block Iran’s access to revenues generated from what he described as illicit schemes.
