The Nifty opened on a negative note and slipped further during the morning session to reach its low point of the day. The Nifty, however, saw a sharp spurt in the afternoon, and it went into the positive zone. It continued trading with minor gains until the end; the headline Index closed with a negligible gain of 16.25 points
