Taking stock of the H back position after the spring game

This is going to be a compilation of observations and information on the H backs not just from Texas A&M’s Maroon & White Game but throughout the spring as well. It’s not going to be in any particular order in terms of best to worst or anything like that.

The loss of Nate Boerkircher to the NFL Draft meant that the Aggies lost a true three down tight end who could execute just about any type of block and route. The guys currently on the roster are more weighted towards being receivers or blockers for the most part.

You’ll notice in the spring game that UTSA transfer Houston Thomas had four receptions but was the second tight end off of the bench. He is very good at running routes and understanding how to get to open spaces. Thomas is…
