TradingKey – On August 17 Eastern Time, Cerebras Systems (CBRS) surged 15% in a single day, breaking through the $250 mark.

Wedbush Securities stated in its latest research report that OpenAI disclosed the Ultrafast mode of GPT-5.6 Sol will be powered by compute from Cerebras, indicating that their partnership continues to make positive progress.

Wedbush analyst Matt Bryson said this news indicates that the partnership between Cerebras and OpenAI is progressing. OpenAI previously committed to purchasing 750 megawatts of compute capacity provided by Cerebras through 2028; meanwhile, the agreement allows OpenAI to extend the contract term for that capacity and further expand the procurement scale before 2030.
