SoftBank-backed crypto venture Twenty One Capital said on Wednesday it has agreed for a business combination with blank-check vehicle Cantor Equity Partners CEP in a $3.6 billion deal.
Twenty One Capital will be majority owned by stablecoin issuer Tether and cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex. Japanese technology investor SoftBank Group 9984 will have a minority ownership.
The crypto venture will seek to trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “XXI” after the deal closes.
