SEC Unveils Spring 2025 Agenda With Crypto Rules in Focus

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has published its Spring 2025 regulatory agenda, laying out a wide set of priorities that put digital assets and market modernization at the center of its policy push.

Chairman Paul S. Atkins emphasized that the agenda represents a “new day” at the Commission, with a sharper focus on innovation, investor protection, and efficient capital formation.

A key pillar is a clearer framework for cryptocurrencies, including rule proposals covering the issuance, custody, and trading of digital assets. The aim, Atkins said, is to provide regulatory certainty while continuing to crack down on fraud and misconduct.
