New Minnesota laws fighting crypto fraud and child grooming go into effect Aug. 1 – ABC 6 News

(ABC 6 News)– Several new Minnesota laws are going into effect on August 1. Some of the changes include a ban on cryptocurrency kiosks and an anti-child grooming law.

Until now, people did not get consequences for sexually abusing children until it was too late. But, starting Saturday, law enforcement will be able to step in before children are harmed. A new law makes grooming a felony offense.

State Rep. Peggy Bennett sponsored the bipartisan bill, and it’s a change that’s personal for her.
