This article compares my stock portfolio with an equivalent investment in a Nifty index fund and the Nifty 100 Low Volatility 30 TR index. We post this comparison each month. Before we begin, new readers need to understand the context of these investments.

Note: The stock portfolio has underperformed indices significantly over the last couple of years. I have not reacted to this for two reasons: (1) I purchased when the stocks were trading much more than their “perceived” worth. So perhaps I must pay the price. (2) There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the portfolio (in my uninformed opinion).
