MoonPay has unveiled a new product that fundamentally changes how artificial intelligence assistants interact with money. The crypto payments firm launched PayBox on July 29, 2026, a vault designed to let users of ChatGPT and Claude authorize real-world and crypto transactions directly from within a conversation, without ever handing custody of funds to the AI itself.
The launch addresses a persistent gap in the AI landscape. Until now, an assistant could research a token, compare swap routes, or find a restaurant, but the moment money needed to move, the user was handed off to a separate wallet, exchange, or checkout page. PayBox eliminates that handoff by embedding payment authorization into the chat interface.
