Monaco plans ‘crypto AML fix in 2026’

Monaco will plug the final gap in its anti-money laundering regime with plans to introduce a new crypto framework by the end of 2026, its finance minister has told The Banker.

The principality is currently overhauling its wider AML and counter-terrorist financing regime after weak controls led to it being placed on the Financial Action Task Force’s grey list in 2023.
