Maxine Waters will block crypto hearing with House Republicans: report
WASHINGTON (TNND) — Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., will reportedly block an upcoming joint hearing with House Republicans on cryptocurrency, according to Politico.
Joint hearings require unanimous consent, meaning Rep. Waters’s disapproval can prevent the meeting entirely. She reportedly plans to walk out of Tuesday’s scheduled meeting along with some Democratic colleagues. They will then host a “shadow hearing” about President Donald Trump’s involvement in cryptocurrency, the publication wrote.
The news comes as the president recently announced his “$Trump Gala Dinner” which will open its doors only to holders of his personal cryptocurrency.
