Man pleads guilty in failed Danbury robbery tied to $245M crypto heist

In a release, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut David Sullivan said Adam Iza, 25, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, also known as Hobbs Act Robbery, in federal court in Bridgeport on Monday. He said the offense that carries a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years, adding his sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 12.

He said Iza’s alleged co-conspirator, who had an altercation with the victims’ son in a Miami nightclub in July 2024, was in regular communication with some of the kidnappers in the days before the crime, provided funding for it and helped arrange the participants’ transportation and lodging.
