Kenya to Legalize Cryptocurrencies After 2015 Crypto Ban

This announcement was made by John Mbadi, the country’s Treasury Cabinet Secretary last Friday. This is a move from its previously anti-crypto stance. Back in 2015, the Kenyan government issued a ban on cryptocurrencies. This prohibited their use as legal tender and preventing money remittance services in crypto. Crypto exchanges were left with no choice. Exchanges bypassed the Kenyan market as the government failed to offer licensing to the trading platforms.
