KDDI launches crypto wallet within au PAY, expands digital payment services

KDDI has launched a cryptocurrency wallet as a mini-app within its au PAY smartphone payment service, allowing users to exchange Ponta points for selected crypto assets and stablecoins and use those assets to top up their au PAY balance. The aU wallet service was developed by KDDI, au Coincheck Digital Assets and HashPort, with au Financial Services providing the au PAY platform. The wallet is non-custodial, with users managing the private keys associated with their digital assets.
