A Hollywood director who took $11 million from Netflix for a science fiction series but quietly moved the money into crypto markets instead, has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison.
According to the court filing, Carl Erik Rinsch, best known for directing Keanu Reeves in the 2013 film “47 Ronin,” was sentenced in Manhattan by U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff, who also ordered three years of supervised release and full restitution of $11 million to Netflix.
