Hargreaves Lansdown, the UK’s largest retail investment platform, has opened crypto ETN trading to eligible investors, adding Bitcoin and Ethereum-linked exchange-traded notes to a platform used by millions of retail savers. The move, which took effect in early September 2026, comes nearly a year after the Financial Conduct Authority lifted its ban on retail crypto ETNs and roughly eleven months after the firm first signalled plans to enter the market.
