Hardware Engineering Chief Ternus to Succeed as CEO, Wall Street Positive as Stock Could Rebound to Record High of $344

TradingKey – On September 1 EST, Apple (AAPL) completed its first top management transition since 2011. Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering John Ternus succeeded Tim Cook as the company’s eighth Chief Executive Officer, while Cook transitioned to Executive Chairman of the Board.

It is reported that Ternus graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1997 and joined Apple’s product design team in 2001. Starting with Mac external displays, he went on to lead AirPods, Mac, iPad, iPhone, and ultimately the entire hardware engineering system.
