GSR Markets Secures FCA Approval As Licensed Crypto Business
GSR Markets, a subsidiary of global cryptocurrency trading firm GSR, secured its regulatory approval from the UK’s financial markets regulator to operate as a licensed crypto asset business.
The coveted license makes GSR the first crypto liquidity provider to win dual regulatory authorization from both the FCA and Singapore’s Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
The FCA authorization enables GSR Markets UK to offer services such as over-the-counter (OTC) and programmatic execution trading to UK clients. It comes amid increasing demand for regulated crypto trading solutions, fueled by Bitcoin surpassing the $100,000 mark in December 2024 and heightened institutional investment throughout the year.
