Google’s planned 5.5 billion euro investment in its German cloud infrastructure will secure 9,000 jobs in the country, a senior Google official said on Tuesday, Reuters reported.

Google’s investment is seen as a push to expand its infrastructure and data centre capacity in Europe’s largest economy. The plans include a new data centre in Dietzenbach, close to Frankfurt, Google said, according to information it provided ahead of a press conference in Berlin.
