Large cryptocurrency holders moved aggressively to buy the dip as bitcoin, ether and XRP tumbled in tandem over the past week, according to on-chain data compiled by analyst Ali Martinez. Whales accumulated more than $1.2 billion worth of bitcoin in a 72-hour window while the asset slid roughly 7%, and similar buying patterns emerged across the two largest altcoins.
The coordinated decline pushed bitcoin from $87,000 to below $81,000, marking its lowest level in more than two weeks. Ether fell from above $2,700 to $2,400 before stabilizing near $2,500, leaving it down about 8% for the week. XRP posted a double-digit weekly loss even after rebounding from a local low of $1.34.
