Ethereum (ETH-USD) opened at $2,705.58 on Friday, October 2, 2026, up 0.8% from Thursday’s opening price. The price of ethereum moved up to $2,747.05 as of 7:25 a.m. ET.

Bitcoin and ethereum opened higher this morning, and crypto prices are rising further in early trading.

Ethereum has finally broken out of the $2,600 range it has maintained since September 24, and bitcoin moved back above $86,000 for the second time in about two weeks. Prior to that, bitcoin hadn’t reached $86,000 since January.
