Crypto mixer operator, Roman Sterlingov sentenced to 12.5 years for money laundering
9th November 2024 – (Washington) Roman Sterlingov, founder of the notorious cryptocurrency mixing service Bitcoin Fog, has been sentenced to 150 months in prison for laundering tens of millions of dollars derived from darknet markets. The 36-year-old Russian-Swiss national received his sentence on Friday from U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss in Washington, D.C. Sterlingov was convicted in March on multiple charges related to operating one of the largest and longest-running money laundering services.
