Crypto Hacks Cost $3.63B Since 2025: CoinGecko Report

Crypto security risks have reached a new level, with crypto platforms losing $3.63 billion across 245 documented exploits between January 2025 and July 2026. The latest CoinGecko 2026 State of Crypto Security Report shows that attackers are increasingly targeting infrastructure, private keys, smart contracts and third-party systems.

The damage is also becoming more concentrated. The 10 largest attacks accounted for more than 72.5% of the total stolen funds, highlighting how a single major breach can reshape the sector’s security landscape.
