A 25-year-old California cryptocurrency businessman who dubbed himself “The Godfather,” pleaded guilty in Bridgeport federal court for his role in a violent August 2024 Danbury, Connecticut, kidnapping and attempted bitcoin robbery, federal prosecutors announced on June 1.
Adam Iza, 25, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, an offense commonly known as a Hobbs Act robbery. He faces a maximum of 20 years in prison when he is sentenced on Aug. 12, according to David Sullivan, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
