Crypto.com is laying off approximately 180 employees — roughly 12% of its global workforce — with CEO Kris Marszalek framing the cuts not as a response to market conditions but as a deliberate restructuring around artificial intelligence.
“Companies that do not make this pivot immediately will fail,” Marszalek wrote on X on Thursday. “Companies that move slowly will be left behind.” All affected staff at the Singapore-headquartered exchange have been notified and are receiving transition support, he said.
