LONDON, Sept 12 — A cryptocurrency billionaire announced Friday he has donated £36 million (RM198.2 million) to Nigel Farage’s hard-right Reform UK, the largest gift in British political history, despite the party being mired in several funding scandals.

Ben Delo said in a Daily Telegraph newspaper article he had given Reform the record sum because it lacked the long-term financial backing of its more established rivals, ruling centre-left Labour and the centre-right Conservatives.

“Unlike the people who express mock concern for the health of ‘our democracy’ while doing everything they can to keep it as a cartel, I want a fair fight and a level playing field,” he wrote.
