Coinbase Resumes User Registration in India with Crypto Trading and Fiat On-Ramp Plans | Ukraine news
After a long pause lasting more than two years, Coinbase reopened registration for users in India through its own mobile app. Crypto-to-crypto trading is currently available, but during a talk at India Blockchain Week APAC, the regional director for the Asia-Pacific region, John O’Loghlen, said that in 2026 the company will launch a fiat on-ramp that will allow funding accounts and buying cryptocurrency.
Coinbase first launched its services in India in 2022, but just a few days later was forced to halt support for the UPI payment network after the NPCI operator refused to recognize Coinbase’s presence in the country. Later in 2023 Coinbase ceased all operations for Indian users and asked them to close their accounts.
