Natalia Clack, founder and director of Easy Super, told SMSF Adviser proper documentation is key to staying audit-ready and compliant including proof of reserves and internal procedures control and audit.
Clack said there has been a steady increase in the number of SMSFs investing in cryptocurrencies, especially newly established funds.
“I would say around 70 per cent of recently established SMSFs have, or have the intention of, investing in cryptocurrency,” she said.
“However, at the same time, from the compliance perspective, and an auditor’s perspective, they still don’t have a clear guidance of what an auditor can accept in terms of evidence of existence when we talk about cryptocurrency.”
