Bitcoin crossed the $85,000 mark Monday, reaching its highest level since late January. The sharp rally has continued for several days: Bitcoin has climbed more than 7% over the past five days and nearly 35% over the past three months. However, it is still down since the start of the year and remains well below its all-time high of $126,000.
Matt Hougan, chief investment officer at Bitwise, told CNBC that he believes the “crypto winter” is over. “I do think it’s over, it’s crypto spring, the crocuses are blooming,” Hougan told CNBC’s “Squawk Box Europe” on Monday. “I think this will actually be the strongest and longest-running bull market in crypto’s history.”
