ADNOC Distribution has announced that it will accept AE Coin, a stablecoin, as a payment method at nearly 980 service stations across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. The company has forged a partnership with Al Maryah Community Bank, enabling stablecoin payments through the bank’s AEC wallet. This payment option applies to various services including fuel refueling, purchases at convenience stores, and car wash services.
As the first stablecoin licensed by the Central Bank of the UAE, AE Coin is pegged 1:1 to the UAE Dirham (AED), which guarantees its stability in value.
