President Trump signed an order giving federal workers both Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas off. Presidents typically grant only one of those days.

With holiday festivities in the middle of the week, the stock market is seeing a shakeup in scheduling. Christmas Day on Thursday will cause the market to close, but that won’t be the only day effected this week.
The New York Stock Exchange always observes Christmas and closes all markets, as it is a federal holiday.
