American Eagle’s stock price skyrockets thanks to Sydney Sweeney
So much for all of the backlash surrounding the American Eagle ad featuring Sydney Sweeney and her great jeans, or genes.
Shares of American Eagle Outfitters were up 32% to just over $18 a share at the time this story was published.
The more than $4 per share increase comes after the teen clothing retailer said the frenzy surrounding Sweeney’s ad campaign brought in new customers during its most recent quarter, according to the Associated Press.
Backlash involving the “Sydney Sweeney has good jeans” ad involving the 27-year old actress started when the ad campaign kicked-off this past summer with the use of the word “jeans” as a play on word for “genes.”
