Ag Democrats push CFTC seats in crypto talks

News: Democrats on the Senate Agriculture Committee are making a renewed push this week to bolster their representation on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, according to three people familiar with the talks.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) is leading Democrats in pushing for language in crypto market structure legislation that would strengthen the statutory requirement that the CFTC include minority members, rather than just members of the president’s party.
