MercadoLibre stock was hit hard today. The shares dropped about 12% in regular trading, extending a weak run over the past month as investors reacted fast to fresh Q3 2026 numbers.
The headline result did not read like a collapse. Revenue reached about US$10.8b for the quarter and basic earnings per share landed near US$8.84. The real flashpoint sat in profitability. Trailing net profit margin sits at 4.9%, well below the 7.9% level from a year earlier and this matters far more for a business already trading around 41x trailing P/E.
