Many crypto investors eagerly await the arrival of “altseasons,” which, in the crypto canon, are periods in the crypto market lasting weeks to a few months during which altcoin prices go completely berserk to the upside, outrunning Bitcoin (BTC -2.08%). Two of the biggest altcoins, Ethereum (ETH -2.52%) and Solana, outpaced Bitcoin between July 19 and Oct. 19, a sign that the next altseason could be closer than it looks.

But most of the time when someone predicts an imminent altseason, it doesn’t come to pass. But whether or not an altseason arrives soon, I’m going to be buying a little bit of one altcoin anyway, and it’s NEAR Protocol (NEAR -5.87%).
