IPOH: A 39-year-old man in Teluk Intan lost about RM12.47mil in crypto assets due to suspected hacking of his digital wallet.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said the victim realised that a sum of his crypto assets had been transferred out of his digital wallet without his knowledge or consent on Friday (Oct 9) at about 1pm.

“Initial investigation found that the transaction involved a blockchain network.

“Police are trying to determine those involved by tracking the flow of transactions with assistance from the Bukit Aman police commercial crime crypto unit,” he said in a statement on Saturday (Oct 10).
