Digital asset platform Gate has teamed up with Visa to introduce a cryptocurrency-linked payment card across more than 40 countries globally.

The card enables balances held in Gate accounts to be spent online and at physical checkouts.

Transactions are automatically settled by converting the user’s digital assets into fiat currency at the point of sale.

Account holders can apply for and oversee the card directly within the Gate mobile application to fund everyday expenditure, including travel, dining, and retail purchases.

The rollout links Gate’s platform with Visa’s acceptance network, which covers upwards of 175 million merchant locations across more than 200 countries and territories. …
