As the pace of artificial intelligence (AI) development accelerates, warnings have emerged that digital asset wallet security systems could collapse before quantum computers reach commercial viability.
Justin Drake, a researcher at the Ethereum Foundation, said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on the 8th (local time) that the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), widely used in Bitcoin and Ethereum wallets, could be neutralized within months rather than years.
