- A federal court in Florida ordered two defendants tied to a cryptocurrency and precious-metals investment fraud to pay more than $30 million in restitution and penalties.
- The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) said investment platform Fundsz marketed guaranteed returns to investors but did not actually trade customer funds, and the investment returns it presented were false.
- According to materials from the court-appointed receiver, only about $4 million of the cash, crypto assets and homes recovered from Larralde’s estate is expected to be returned to investors.
