Stronger oversight and revised stablecoin safeguards are among the changes proposed as the EU reviews its crypto-asset framework.
The European Central Bank has called for targeted changes to the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR) in response to the European Commission’s targeted consultation on the regulation’s review. The European System of Central Banks said the framework provides a harmonised regime for crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) and issuers, while pointing to areas that could be improved based on early implementation experience and changing market dynamics.
