Veto holds after vote
DiarioBitcoin said the Sejm “necesitaba 266 votos y quedó 25 sufragios por debajo del umbral,” leaving the veto in place and prolonging uncertainty over how Poland will apply MiCA domestically.
KuCoin reported that the bill would have assigned crypto market supervision to Poland’s Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) as MiCA applies across the EU, but the override attempt missed the threshold “with three abstentions.”
The dispute centers on whether a national framework is necessary for licensing and enforcement, while KNF has said Poland still lacks a designated authority responsible for supervising cryptoassets despite MiCA already taking effect across the European Union.
