Unstoppable Domains has abandoned plans to seek standard internet recognition for 14 Web3 domain extensions, including .crypto, .bitcoin, .wallet and .brave choosing financial viability over a broader push into the traditional Domain Name System (DNS).

The decision means these Web3 domains will remain primarily blockchain-based assets rather than gaining conventional domain functionality through the current ICANN application round.
