X is preparing to roll out cryptocurrency trade buttons that would let users execute buy and sell orders without leaving the social platform, according to former product chief Nikita Bier. The feature builds on Cashtags, the existing infrastructure that displays Solana and Ethereum price charts directly inside posts.

Bier confirmed the development Tuesday while pushing back against claims that X had suppressed cryptocurrency-related accounts. An X user had posted that the “Bull Market is allowed to commence because Nikita is no longer shadow banning CT,” using shorthand for Crypto Twitter, the trading community on the platform. A shadowban quietly limits how many people see an account without informing its owner.
