Can MU Stock Keep Rising as Memory Shortage May Extend to 2027 and Shares Target $1,000?

TradingKey – As of August 17 Eastern Time, Micron Technology (MU) rose 4.13% for the day to close at $1,011.75, reclaiming the $1,000 mark. Since falling to a low of $737.88 on July 29, Micron’s stock price has rebounded by about 37%, but still has roughly 20% upside potential to its all-time high of $1,254.80 set on June 25.

Recently, Micron’s management offered a relatively positive assessment of supply and demand dynamics in the memory market.

At the KeyBanc Technology Leadership Forum, Micron’s Chief Commercial Officer stated that AI-driven memory demand is growing rapidly, and the supply environment in 2027 could be even tighter than in 2026, with supply shortages potentially persisting beyond 2027.
