TradingKey – On August 11, the South Korean stock market opened lower. The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) opened down 0.92% at 6,241.86 points, with heavyweight semiconductor stocks under pressure as SK Hynix fell as much as 2.32% and Samsung Electronics slipped 0.22%. Japanese stock markets were closed for the Mountain Day public holiday.
According to the latest trading data, the KOSPI was down 0.83% at 6,247.23 points. South Korean chip stocks overall performed weakly, with SK Hynix down 1.55% at 1,398,000 won (approximately $987), and Samsung Electronics trading at 230,500 won.
