Sales of hardware cryptocurrency wallets in Russia have surged more than twofold on major online marketplaces, as the country’s new regulatory framework for digital assets is set to take effect on September 1, 2026. The spike in demand underscores a growing preference among Russian users for self-custody solutions ahead of the sweeping rule changes.
Electronics retailer M.Video reported that hardware-wallet unit sales on its marketplace jumped 107% in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the first quarter. Category turnover, which reflects the total value of sales, climbed 92% over the same period.
