Elon Musk’s space company faces $1.4 trillion wipeout as shares tumble

SpaceX shares tumbled on Friday, putting the rocket and artificial intelligence giant on track to wipe out more than $US1 trillion ($1.4 trillion) in market value from its all-time high.

The stock pared losses after falling as much as 6.9 per cent to $US122.12 per share, giving the company a market value of $US1.61 trillion. The value stood at $US2.64 trillion at the close on June 16, its third day of trading.
